Severe weather warning for Sydney
Sydneysiders have been warned to brace themselves for gale force winds today, as this week's cool wintery conditions continue.

The winds prompted the Bureau of Meteorology to issue a severe weather warning for the state's coastal areas. Emergency services have advised people to stay indoors away from windows and to keep clear of fallen power lines.

Wind gusts this morning were expected to reach as high as 90km/h, and average wind speeds to reach more than 65km/h, the bureau said.
